Young Chamber Musicians presents a Masterclass with Davis You, cello
As a member of the San Francisco Symphony, cellist Davis You has held the Lyman & Carol Casey Second Century Chair since 2024. He recently received his bachelor of music from the New England Conservatory, where he studied with Laurence Lesser and Paul Katz, and regularly appeared as principal cello of the NEC Philharmonia. He was a member of the Quartet Luminera that won the silver medal at the 2023 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. A Bay Area native, Davis began his cello studies with Irene Sharp and Jonathan Koh and chamber music in Young Chamber Musicians from 2017-2020.
YCM presents this admission-free masterclass as a part of its vision of “advancing the artistry of extraordinary young musicians through the study and performance of chamber music.” YCM dedicates this program to Mary Bianco with gratitude for her generous support.
